Tokaia, what an awesome post

Someone once told me that cats will always go and rub against the human that doesn't like them purely for the fact that they know this and it presents a challenge, to get a reaction.

I've never had a decent answer from them.

When I was growing up, I had a dog. Dogs liked me and cats didn't.

Now I have a cat. Cats love me and dogs run from me.

That keen sense of smell lets them know who has been welcomed into my home.

Yes.

I have gotten to where I don't like certain animals, and I swear, they seem to know it. I must give off vibes or hate fumes when I don't like them.

But generally, animals do like me. I even love insects, and I also rarely get stung by bees. I love bees.

I have dairy goats, and have had a lot of success at taming down "wild" goats or being able to work with goats that other people found to be unmanageable. I always try to talk to them (any animal) in their own language, though.

I can interpret the language of animals far better than I can people. I can fully understand what my mom's dog is doing, or thinking, just by the way it holds it's body, or barks. This ability has been learned from many many hours of reading books and watching Animal Planet.
