Executive Function, Who? (trigger? idk)
Wow. What a crap-shoot lol.
Yeah he's pretty awesome. I like that about him. I think feeling sorry for yourself makes a person dark, turns them into something bad, sometimes something really ugly and mean.
^-^ Neat. I've never met another person who liked him best, before.

And he's probably going to live the longest, too. I can just sense it.
He's 78 years old this year. He looks about my age, or perhaps even younger.
And this is despite a very sickly childhood.
Even though he supposedly has a voice which has no "range," I find the voice pleasing. He sings "Yellow Submarine." I don't care if he's not a good "technical" singer.
You should watch, on YouTube, how the kids of today react to the Beatles. You would be amazed. And how one of the little girls really likes Ringo.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
I can admire and appreciate the precision of art in all it's various forms. But I think too many people put too much emphasis on technicalities and perfectionism. The art I've come across in my life that's moved me, genuinely moved me, was never perfect or technically within it's structures. It was just real.
I don't think I'd be surprised at all, lol. Younger generations tend to appreciate the subtleties often missed by the majority in previous ones. I figure, once you get old enough your head is so full of other things that you can't see the trees for the forest, you know?

I agree. Many people don't "see the forest for the trees." They are too hung up on seeming "hip" or whatever. They are afraid people are going to think they're square (I don't know what word they use now for "square").
There's a deejay, in New York City, named Cousin Brucie. All the other deejays think he's the worst deejay because he gets many technical things wrong. Trust me, in the 1960s, people didn't care about that. They just loved Cousin Brucie because of his sincerity, not his technical deejaying skills.

I deliberately said it backwards, because the forest is the big picture, right? So the trees would be the details. Idk it sounded right in my head lol.
"Lame" is pretty timeless in it's expression. Lol.
Of course they do.

I was born in 1961, so I was 9 when the Sixties ended.
Even so, lots of me is shaped by the idealism of the Sixties.
I used to listen to my transistor radio, which was always on WABC AM. I used to love the year-end countdown shows, and listened for hours then.
I actually didn't care about the deejays then, though I knew their names. I just cared about the music of the songs. I could hardly hear the lyrics. To this day, I know which song will play, usually, within five notes if it's a 60s or 70s some.
I've read quite a bit about the Beatles. But I stick to facts. I don't get into those myths which state, for example, that Paul McCartney is dead, and has been replaced by someone else.
Of course it did. Child or not, our environment shapes us, especially with everything going on at that time.
I have a transistor! It's pretty old, my grandfather's, but it still works. I love that thing.
I love music. Music is a big deal for me, in a receptive quality. I can't play anything, I was learning how to play a violin (a family friend is classically trained, he was teaching me, told me I was a natural) but arthritis moved into my fingers so now the joints are calcified in bent positions and it's too painful to put pressure on the strings. So I had to give that up. But I love singing and I love being able to lose myself in music. I play with Incredibox for hours. It's the one thing that was consistently good in my life, other than books, so it's very important to me.
I can do the same thing! My range isn't as broad for the 60s, 70s and 80s but I can recognize songs I'm familiar with very quickly. Wasn't there a game show that did that, Name That Tune or something?? Or was that just a passing the time kind of game? (in general my memory is awful)
LOL I heard that one! That cracked me up. I had to wonder what the motivation was behind such a theory and who came up with it originally.
