Who remembers this 1982-88 NBC hospital dramedy? What it was about, per TVTropes:

"It was about the staff, and to a lesser extent the patients, in the rundown Boston teaching hospital St. Eligius (nicknamed "St. Elsewhere"). The show was Soap Operatic at times with frequent doses of Black Comedy, and had numerous Very Special Episodes. It ran for six seasons, appeared to have strong continuity for the most part, was written well enough for the most part that people got attached to the characters, had crossed over with numerous other [NBC] network properties, and it was both popular and critically acclaimed while it was running. It was truly Must-See TV."

I remember it being on when I was still a kid, but I didn't watch much. Which is probably a good thing, because I missed the final episode where the ending was shocking enough, but showing MTM's Mimsy the Cat afterwards in a hospital bed during the end credits, and then she flatlines and dies, was really hard on me even when I first saw it on Youtube as an adult.

Of course, it might not have been the actual Mimsy, but she must have been around 20 years old at that time so she surely must have died for real. But still! :(

It will always be remembered as having the worst excuse of an ending ever.

I loved it! I was a teenager at the time, and really appreciated the creativity, the quirkiness of it. It was refreshing to me. Yes, the ending was a bit odd, but I kind of liked that about it, too.

Loved the theme song. I was in the color guard and desperately wanted our band to perform it so that I could choreograph the routine--the ideas I had were just itching to be performed!

I Do. In fact I own the whole series on DVD. I'm still working through it so I don't have many references yet so don't quiz me,
