Well, the media would hardly go: meh, there's hardly been a good film this century, and this one is about a guy dressing up as a bat- and it's not even kinky!
I think Batman and Robin captures what the characters are all about: silly fun. Ultimately, Christopher Nolan's Batman films only wear the guise of serious war films, while they remain children's films. Very violent ones, thoufh.
