23 cents in the bank... No cash on hand. Not even any food stamps left. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. Only present we got was some money from one of my husbands family members that is gone already. My money this month went toward gas to get my husband to doctors and stuff, I couldn't buy him anything. My relatives..... Let's just say my husband just went through a minor surgery and found out he needs more surgery and instead of expressing concern they come over to the house to find out if he got any "good pills".

Today all my husband wants is a Diet Pepsi. Can I get it for him. No. Could someone else? Yes. Will they? No. My uncle just tells me to stop crying, I have nothing to cry about. I wait to see if a job is interested in me. My phone and email are silent. I only pay for phone and internet in hopes of getting a job , maybe someday I won't be able to afford those either.

Can't do nothing is the worst feeling ever.

750 is not alot of money for two people to live on. I have to pay 300 rent/utilities plus car insurance plus other bills plus a ton of car gas because all the doctors are far away and my husband has like 3-4 appointments a week plus household stuff. Oh and 172 in food stamps is hard to live on too.

You are going through a hard time right now, and you're especially discouraged because you tried really hard to make that job work out, and it didn't. There are hopes for getting a different one, but that could take a while.

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. Try to remember that things eventually do change. Rest extra much because of the toll this is taking on you.

Your family and your husband's family seem similar to mine. They are one of the 3 main reasons why I left Michigan -- No job, no home, and no friends or relatives who cared. Every church I went to for help turned me away, too.

They said, "It's all your fault" ... "Stop complaining" ... "You have nothing to complain about" ... "Get a job" ...

The 'nicer' ones at least said, "You're in our thoughts and prayers" ...

None of them helped me, either.

It seems my uncle totally abandoned us... He took off sometime last night and is still not home. Me and my husband are alone today with no money, no gas, I'm trying not to cry.

OMG my uncle came back but isn't acknowledging us or anything.... not even "Happy Anniversary". So far on FB I've had one blood relative of mine wish me happy anniversary.... Everyone else has been friends or my husbands relatives... Seriously I have blood relatives galore.... They are doing this about my husbands surgery too, instead of wishing him well they are just interested in what kind of pills he has. My family can go to heck.

Actually my uncle thought my anniversary was tomorrow so that is why nothing was said or done... Hmmm...

I never expected anything for a wedding anniversary from anyone except my husband, in both of my marriages. Is it common in your family to observe anniversaries for extended family?

My second (current) husband was in the habit of sending a card to his sons and daus-in-law, which was a custom I had never seen before. When both sons got divorced about the same time, my husband said "I guess I don't need to send them an anniversary card any more."
