I had to go to the DMV today (drivers license place) and was interested to see there was a person there operating the photo station who had at least one deformed hand (I didn't see the other one) and a facial deformity as well. This guy's entire job as far as I could tell was to line the person up in front of a camera and then push a button. For that he didn't need a handful of fingers, just one.

So it got me to thinking. Quite possibly government jobs offer better opportunity for people with a disability than private sector employment.

While he did have public contact, it was very limited. No complicated questions, no spiel to recite. Just "back up a little ... okay, 1, 2, 3." Over and over all day.

I bet most people here could do that.

That does sound like a good job. I think i could get a job like that if only i could disclose my disability.
