Asperger's syndrome and histrionic personality disorder are not especially similar disorders, but some aspies may have traits of a histrionic personality anyway.

For each criterion of histrionic personality disorder, decide how well it applies to you personally. If it doesn't apply at all, score it as 0; if it is somewhat applicable, score it as 1; and, if it describes you quite well, score it as a 2. The minimum possible score is 0; the maximum possible score is 12. For an ICD-10 diagnosis of F60.4 histrionic personality disorder, four criteria must be met. I measured myself as having a score of 5.

ICD-10 wrote:

(a)self-dramatization, theatricality, exaggerated expression of emotions;
(b)suggestibility, easily influenced by others or by circumstances;
(c)shallow and labile affectivity;
(d)continual seeking for excitement and activities in which the patient is the centre of attention;
(e)inappropriate seductiveness in appearance or behaviour;
(f)over-concern with physical attractiveness.

Associated features may include egocentricity, self-indulgence, continuous longing for appreciation, feelings that are easily hurt, and persistent manipulative behaviour to achieve own needs.

Includes: hysterical and psychoinfantile personality (disorder)

:lol: I should probably adjust my obsessive-compulsive personality score up a point for having started a thread for each of the nine personality disorders. I didn't wreak havoc on the database with all these polls and threads, did I?

Qualification:

a - No thanks - I really don't need it.
b - Possible, but my ingrained arrogance and opinionated unwillingness to be manipulated might run counter to it.
c - Possibly shallow personally, but not sure my emotional run like that. Believe me, I knew someone who fits the profile quite well. She could turn from tears to laughter at the drop of a hat.

e - Not with my body, looks, personal charisma, etc.
f - I can't be over-conerned with something I can't possibly change.

Is it possible to score lower? I must obviously be hiding something or other ...

It could be a deficient function of my 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder'. though I am inclined to question the basis of such a 'defect' in the face of such overwhelming empirical evidence.
