You have to be careful. Smells attract things like mice, rats, cockroaches and then all of their friends come too. There are some diseases that those guys bring too. Plus fleas. Those guys will make your life hellish.
Well, yeah.. that's the thing.. keeping a balance so that things don't become unhealthy. Being overly clean is unhealthy, too. People who compulsively disinfect everything do not do their immune systems any good. We Need beneficial bacteria in our lives - much like toddlers are supposed to eat dirt and help populate their bodies with beneficial bacteria that help them grow into strong, healthy, adults.
But yeah, don't need any nasty odors or disease carrying pests.. gotta at least be cleaner than that!
It's kinda funny that I'm such a lazy slob about my bedroom & bathroom, yet I am Very OCD about personal hygiene. Same extends to my clothing & lack of caring one bit about fashion. I wear clothes until they are so tattered that homeless people on the streets are better dressed than I am - BUT - they are always freshly washed. I just don't care for material things, fashion, style, and all that. I work a dusty blue collar job and have other priorities for money. Plus I most certainly don't dress to impress or attract dates - couldn't care less as neither are my goals. All that and the only place I go is a nude beach where clothes aren't required anyways lol. But once every couple years I purge the worst of my work clothes and move on to the next ones in my closet or spend a couple dollars at a thrift store lol. I'm much more function over form.. I'd probably make a fantastic Muslim in that regard lol.
*shrug* That's all just part of my own weird Aspie nature.
