Which Aspie?

Asking "could an Aspie work in a bar?" Is like asking "could an Aspie run a mile in five minutes

Some aspies can run a mile in five minutes

Some aspies can't

I like this attitude. It's like when people ask, "Are you a dog person?" I'm tempted to reply, "Which dog are we talking about?"

One Aspie might not be able to work in any bars

One Aspie might be able to work in all
Bars

One Aspie might get rejected from one bar, fired from on bar, and hired at a different bar

:skull: Splitting fine hairs :skull:

If you get a job at a bar, that is :skull: one bar :jester: at  one time :D

Says nothing about any other bar, or any other time

Yes, they can. Well, at least I could. I speak only from my experience.

When I was a student I used to work part time in the nightclub industry.

Dressing up, serving drinks, fun, light-hearted socializing with customers.

It was honestly an interesting experience that I look back on with nostalgia.

I don’t think I could have done it full time though, but for part time, no problems.

I worked at bars for a cumulative ~7 years as a Porter/busser sometimes, but mostly as a bartender. So, yes, we can.

Some parts of it are great, others can be stressful. The cash is decent here, but the hours kinda suck working late nights and weekends and on every holiday etc - but, there are times I truly enjoyed working the party more than attending it, so it was ok.

I can’t say I’d never do it again, or bartend a party or wedding or whatever, but now that I get up just after 4am and work 6-2 Mon-Fri, if I work weekends I’d kinda rather work days plying my trade or some other labour vs stay up all night slinging drinks just to try to keep to some sort of regular sleep pattern. Then again, who am I kidding? I stay up late chatting/socializing or hanging out etc anyways lol

Yeah, it must suck having to work weekends while everyone else is having fun, but the upside is that at least you get to be out among people and excitement. Some people will never have an excuse to go out.

I used to work Saturday night shift at a gas station...man it was hard seeing all the people my age, all dolled up, coming in to get their snacks before hitting the town. :(
