I kind of feel like I’m stuck in a rut. I don’t have much in the way of options. I have to eat at a soup kitchen because I’m too poor to cook. And there are always the same welfare folk there. I’m kind of tired of them. I didn’t really meet anyone cool there. I’m tired of this town. There is nothing to do here except shop or go to a soup kitchen. I’m tired of being on antipsychotic meds. My mom said she would avoid contact if I went off them. So I have to keep taking this crap. I crave something new. Something nice. But I don’t know how to get it with what little money I have. I thought I would whine about this here because sometimes people here have good advice.

I would say the main problem, in some "poor" areas, is the lack of a decent grocery store. I mean that. Many supermarkets require cars to get to them.

You have a kitchen in your home; why can't you cook---or at least microwave things. You can pick up a decent microwave for about $75 Canadian dollars. If you don't have a microwave, all you residents could chip in towards getting one.

Can’t help as I feel similarly. I can only offer a hug

We already have a microwave but should get a new one anyway. The kitchen is a shared one so its always dirty. So I dont like cooking in it.

I could bike to another town for something new but what would I do when I get there? Other than shop of course.

You can help keep the kitchen clean. I'm not saying this because I think you don't help out in the house.

You don't have to do somebody else's dishes----but you can mop the and clean up the counters.

If people cooperated, they can keep a very clean kitchen.

Then you would feel like cooking in it more.

It's very expensive to get food "to go" all the time

(I wish I could afford that!)

Well you know kraftie thats a good idea. I should probably clean more and make food. Maybe the more I make food the less I will hate doing it.

Id like to take a break from the soup kitchen. It will be closed for a couple of weeks at the end of summer but I dont know if I can wait that long. Maybe when I get money I can take a break and cook for myself. They dont give out enough food at the soup kitchen anyway. Most days you have to make food right after going because they dont give you enough. So a break wont hurt me.

I need to find other things to do though.

Sat down and tried to make a list of cheap easy things to cook. Everything I came up with sounded yucky.

Im going to stick to buying those pre made meals at the grocery store. Its better than buying fast food.

How about pasta and sauce? That's easy to make. You can also cook hamburger meat with it.

Sure I could do that.

I could go to the library as a pass time. They have free wifi there

Now the problem with the library is there is an old woman there that doesnt like me. Its a complicated story as to why. But she doesnt seem to want to ever forgive me. I hade to make a complaint about her because she tried to get into it with me a few times. I hate it when she is there. I mean I can talk to her but it creeps me out because I know she hates me.

So I hope the wifi doesnt need a password so I dont have to ask that witch.

Hopefully the thing will retire soon.

Can't you ask someone else at the library, instead of just one old woman?

I hope so. She ruins everything when she’s there.

A bicycle and a good lock (Making sure you lock it to something solid) is always a great plan. You did say you had one. That way more libraries maybe with reach?
Are there cheap camping sets for cooking on? The very small ones? A rear rack on the bike to take a small cooking set and some panniers... Umm. Freedom! :) But be safe.
