Get a hobby that you enjoy, or even offer to assist at your local animal shelter if you like dogs or cats. Then you'll have other things to focus your energies on. There must be something you really like doing.

That said, sometimes medication may be needed and for this you should seek assessment / treatment.

Just yesterday I was reading about Asperger's and Depression (google). I live in the moment so much that I'm really happy when I'm happy and really upset when I am upset. I read that Aspie's can be more susceptible to continued depression b/c we are focused and may ruminate (upset, that I am upset because I am upset). Yesterday I was a bit stuck and called my husband (at your age, a counsellor) to help. He gave me encouragement that I was willing to latch on to and put into mind instead of my negative ruminations.

And/or I would need to distract myself. It's rough because anxiety resists relaxation, per a parenting book I am reading. That's another discussion.

Obsessive compulsive disorder

I overthink too.

Instead of dwelling on the past, think about Maslow's hierarchy and global area functioning and survival of the fittest

So I tell myself, coming up with complex insightful wise conclusions about my stupidass "life", is not in Maslow's hierarchy. Unless publication. Which I would already have done, if I was going to do it.

So, instead of indulging preoccupations about:. Trans, autism, suicide, precious lil "people" , mister redelings, counseling. Instead, it is applicable to just, do the laundry.

Wishing you increased moments of peace and that it's comfortable. I find idleness to be a challenge as I am constantly wanting to do something (mostly mental, but physical also). Active meditations work best for me. To sit quietly in meditation? Er, maybe in another 20 years. I have a friend who's has Aspie traits and she can sit in one spot for an hour without nose diving into depression. Amazing to me. (I am the over-expressive type and she's the under-expressive type.)

In fact im not dwelling on the past but im worrying about future. I have thoughts like: ill be forever alone, i will die poor and lonely, im losing my youth, people will hate me, thoughts like this.... the life is like a rush for me and im just trying to be normal and be likeable by other people. instead of enjoying life (cant do that)

@MountainGoat, I am relatively new to this forum, but I do not see where one can react to a comment with a "ok" or "LOL", etc. I would definitely hit "LOL" here.

I would recommend gardening if there were an easy way to water and plant and buy seeds. In reverse order of course.
