I'm my own best friend. I like to be left alone.

Had found it interesting, doing "puzzles " nope nope not puzzles as you put on a flatsurface per se'
But do to pretty nasty upbringing . By some smart parents " thats weird" by itself .
Have seen things in life that interest me. Or would like to emulate to be able to have them in my life.
So piece one , the interest or desire . Then next piece , what to look for to make the next piece fit.
Still another piece is acquistion of such , other pieces to make the puzzle look more like what i had the interest in. ( ALL THE TIME INBETWEEN SEEING THE FINISHED PUZZLE). So the puzzle pieces are not perfect . But i now have acquired things that make the puzzle appear right. Or at least info to find those pieces .
So am alone , without personal interruptions to focus on pieces of the puzzle .in spare time.
This sits in the back of my head ..instead of normal crap , great distraction . Now , when am seeing things . I see possible things that can help complete the puzzle . If not only finding one or 2 things that would merely allow me to assemble one more piece . Soon am seeing all the pieces , having gathered them over years . Almost unconsiously , and have stashed them away . With other pieces . To be a final assembly . Every so often inbetween , testing the pieces to see if they are fitting together right.

Maynot be exactly as imagined , but with time you can trim of the edges for a better look or fit.
But you have it , and you are responsible for that puzzle even being in existence .

Found this approach works with most all things , just takes time and willingness to be distracted by your own puzzle .
"NOTHING SUCCEEDS LIKE SUCCESS ,! Or THE APPEARANCE OF SUCCESS" Doctor Wagner.
One of my late fathers best friends from the 1930s. Yes he was that old too.
Just beware if you do this , others may want your finished puzzle for their own at all costs.
Am pretty sure this valuable advise to aspies ? Please do not share .
Have for your friends the very best of friends aswell .

I wonder that my AS-like daughter will live that way, and proudly. I think I could have but I succumbed to the relentles pressure to please others. As a baby I played happily for hours and hours by myself. It all went to hell when social interaction was required. Perhaps I will unlearn that message (which is still pressed upon me to this day). I'm just starting to resist.

I would be happily playing in my room and my parent would come in and start yelling at me for not having friends and I would be ashamed... and lonely. So in part the loneliness is in comparison to some standard, not an absolute.
