I look forward to finding out how to break the habit too. I surf in bed, using a tablet. If I’m lucky the tablet slowly drops down to rest on my face as I doze off . It leaves a nice deep groove in my forehead when it rests there for hours. Or more fun, it smacks down on to the bridge of my nose waking me. It hurts! Either way, I go back to looking at what I was reading before falling asleep and do it all again. I’d like to go to sleep with the light out and sleep all night without my internet breaks. I used to read books ......

I am like this in that my ipad either falls on my face or to the side of me and I end up sleeping on it.
But I am reading books, not surfing. I don't much like surfing on the ipad and also if I try to reply, the keyboard makes noise that disturbs my husband.
To read on the ipad without a light, I have discovered I can turn out the light, dim the screen, and then continue reading until I fall asleep. I frequently have to do the fall on my face, wake up, read some more, fall on my face, several times before I finally give in for a night's sleep.
I have to use the computer so much for work, I pretty much don't want to look at it any other times. I can get sucked in by gardening sites and sometimes canoe related sites.
