Depression
I am so sorry you are feeling like you are spiraling downward. I know it doesn't feel like it, or at least it doesn't feel like it to me, but things eventually start going up again, especially if you can get some rest and a lot of hugs, if you like hugs.
Even though I have been up and down many times, (or is it down and up?), and I have had enough experience at this to know that eventually life returns to good, when I am down I cannot feel that. I just have to intellectually tell myself to let it be, get rest and eventually the feelings will improve.
I also have a lot of problems with executive function and can really sympathize with that. It takes me so much more work to do the work due to really poor executive functioning.
^I wish this was something taught to ASD people instead of 'them' trying to transform ASD people into NT's. Executive function loss is no joke. Happy 2020.

^ I agree with you. Parents, schoolteachers, ABA, they are all trying to teach the autistic child how to behave like they are NT.
I think the child should have his differences celebrated, and work on improving the things s/he wants to do and is good at. Why do we try to make people work on things they don't like and can't do? That can only result in a child who is depressed, angry and having meltdowns.
I think it would be great to have classes on Executive Function. I know about so many ways to help, lists, and how you arrange things and how you file things, how you prioritize things, how to delegate. But I still, everyday in my job, it is a mess because so many things are coming at me at one time and they are all important.
I can (and do) sometimes get discouraged about that. It was reassuring to me to learn what executive dysfunction is and to accept myself as I am instead of trying to become someone I'm not.
