No one cheered for me at graduation ceremony

The same happened to me...not a single clap.
Hurts.

Belated but very sincere CHEER from me.
You did it!!

I knew they wouldnt.

I didnt care much... I was just ecstatic to be done.

i wasnt supposed to have graduated but the teachers helped me by giving me assignments to make up for it.

They knew i could... They knew i tried.. they knew it was an organization n focus n depression problem.

Even the teacher who didnt like me since i called him out for bullying another student, even he tried to give me second chances on chemistry which was my worst subject..


Grateful for that. What else matters after all? U did it

I graduated "magna cum laude." Nobody cared but my family.

Wow that is awesome.

Well to be honest your family must have been really good at raising you, too, for that achievement to be possible (thats for uni or college I guess).

'It takes a village' but families of children with ASD have to take a lot of initiative n have to compensate for any missing support ...bcuz the village is not as keyed up on their child.

I got my degree when I was 45. It took a while lol.

This was undergraduate college.

At school people just clapped for everybody.

At uni I went to the prize givings alone because I never had anybody to bring with me. Fortunately there too everybody clapped for everyone. Still I was worried sometimes people wouldn't clap. But the worst thing was the embarrassment of going there alone. Nobody went alone. Everybody had a guest; their parent, friend, boyfriend, girlfriend. Only one year I saw a guy who was alone too. The first 2 times I just went but it was highly unpleasant, so the third year I said to the school secretary that I wouldn't be able to attend it. But she said it wouldn't look good if I didn't go there. So I felt forced to go again. Those days are some of the most unpleasant recollections of my studies. At the end I didn't even go to my uni graduation since I already had enough of attending unnecessary events at which I'd be sitting or standing alone like an idiot.

I watched the video of the graduation online though and the people who received more cheering than others weren't necessarily the most popular. They just had guests who liked to make noise I suppose.
