Everytime I log into WrongPlanet, I periodically receive a series of messages that claim I am trying to enter another website. Either "rc.ricdn.com" or "tag.apxiv.com". I then receive the following warning:

The certification for this website is invalid. You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be (either of the two listed above), which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the website anyways?

This seems to happen only when I am on Wrong Planet. I would caution everyone to not try and enter those two sites because they may be some type of honeytrap.

It may be that those two files are actually on your computer, and pop those messages whenever you log in here.  When was the last time you ran a virus scan?

I checked to see if either file was on my computer. No files by that name listed.

The Internet said:

Safe Browsing status for Ricdn.com is Unsafe.
While this site is currently listed as suspicious, visiting it may harm your computer.

Safe Browsing status showing you whether the website is Safe or Unsafe to use. It checks the URL against Google's constantly updated lists of suspected phishing and malware website.

Apxiv.com list itself as an Artist Collective. But in its description in Russian it says: spatio-temporal structure in the process of constant transformation. Ripple Configurations. That doesn't sound like something an artist collective would describe themselves as.

Both urls appear to be associated with ad servers. :?

I wonder if some of the ad servers that Wrong Planet uses have lost certification!

I have not had any problems with WP on my laptop or cell phone.

Maybe try clearing your browser history, sometimes if you go to the same URL to much it causes a glitch.

It happens and it's can be caused by subdomains or it can be caused by the certificate expiring, neither of which would represent an actual security problem but would be identified as potentially problematic.

I cleared the browser history. But that did not solve the problem.
