....losing my religion.

It's funny, I was just thinking about this song before I read your post! I really like it. I just heard today that the best we can hope for is a hybrid model as far as school reopening is concerned. This would mean in person school 2 days per week and online learning the other 3 with only half of the kids being allowed in each school at a time. I'm still not sure about the mentor program but I would be willing to do it online if allowed. I just don't think school will get back to normal any time soon. What I fear is that once they do this for awhile longer and perfect this distance learning, they'll realize there's almost no need to open physical schools. I see this ad for this online school for K-12 called "Connections Academy". I don't know much about it but what I do know is they are promoting it as though it is better than traditional school because you can learn on your own schedule with accommodating teachers and grow up to be a more successful adult than regular school. So, while they will always need teachers in one form or another, I fear that our time in a building will be coming to an end sooner than I thought which is sad because it's not really school to me unless I can give a high five to a kiddo who does a good job and see all of the kids playing on the playground. :(
