They just put Thundercats the orginal and a reeboot(I guess from 2011) on hulu. And well yeah if you pay attention the orginal thundercats series certainly has music and sound effects similar to the old animated hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies. I just found it surprising that some of those same people or whatever were responsible also for all those christmas claymation movies as well.
Also I figure the Ice King in Adventure time is based on the snow warlock from the claymation movie from them titled 'santa clause is coming to town' In that movie I think he ends up granting santa his magical powers, but not before santa convinces him to give up evil and try doing good for a change. But I rewatched the main scene from that movie with that character and he even had a pet penguin like the ice king in adventure time has pet penguins. So I could be wrong but I would not at all be surprised if that claymation character is where they got their idea for the Ice King character.
I realize people may not care about this post but...I just found it all very interesting and figured I would share in case anyone else found it interesting.
Also, Panthro was voiced by Earle Hyman, who played Grandpa Huxtable on the Cosby Show.
