It just shows you when they are online if they have that function enabled on their account. Also a quick button to go to their account to look at their posts. They don't know you've added them unless you tell them. So really its a way to creep on people :P

For Chrome users (should also works in Firefox in Greasemonkey) using Tampermonkey, you can use this script to hide certain people's posts, and the posts containing quotes from them too, read the Tampermonkey on their official site to learn how to enable the script :

Quote:
// ==UserScript==
// @name Block people.
// @namespace https://wrongplanet.net
// @version 0.1
// @description try to take over the world!
// @author You
// @match https://*/*
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==

(function () {
'use strict';
let blockList = ['Blocked User1', 'Blocked User2']; /// <= this is the blockList, here add usernames, case-sensitive
let elements = document.querySelectorAll('div.row');
elements.forEach((element, index) => {
let user = element.querySelector('.user-col').querySelector('p').querySelector('a').innerText;
if (blockList.includes(user)) {
elements[index].remove();
}

let quoteElements = element.querySelectorAll('.quotetitle') || [];
quoteElements.forEach(el => {
let trimmed = el.textContent.trim();
let replaced = trimmed.replace('wrote:', '').trim();
if (blockList.includes(replaced)) {
elements[index].remove();
}
});
});
})();

I have work now, later I will do one for thread list :mrgreen:

think they have to do with the pm function , as to who is allowed to pm you.
not entirely sure about those functions either.

Blocking someone or skipping their posts, either should work as a way of avoiding someone upsetting.
No one should feel harassed or intimidated when they just come here for someone to talk to.
Perhaps some individuals (Maybe all of us?) could just reread their posts before posting, when they are writing while angry?

^Excellent advice, dear Sylkat.

Posting while an emotional storm brews in your upper regions north of your shoulders, isn't recommended! But these can blow over quick, allowing better posting weather!

These are difficult times, we are all intimidated, perhaps Aspies vent more unintentionally than others...
It is difficult to understand if someone is upset/annoyed by a post, or by what they are experiencing in their lives.

I notice NTs do a lot of venting as well, but you are right the difference may be whether some Aspies filter what they say.

It is a missing function that has been requested by many before.

Me personally won't use it.

have generally found myself rereading posts several time before deciding to filter what is being written here . The written word doesnt always convey the emotion behind the writing .
