Adequate minimum wage is needed to ensure workers are paid fairly for their labour. If minimum wage was to be abolished, employers would not pay their workers adequately to maximise profit. Unions bargain on behalf of workers to increase pay and improve workers conditions.

In a fair just society an adequate minimum wage is needed for workers. If you are unhappy with your pay and conditions, you should join a Union that will stand up for your rights and bargain for better pay and conditions.

Unions need to become more militant to stand up against employers. Workers must ignore right wing politicians/corporate media that preach Unions are bad.
Union membership must increase and minimum wage increases are needed nationwide.

the working class needs to disenthrall itself from authority figures and learn to think for itself, it needs to stop falling for the big man stealing all their cookies while pointing to a union guy and saying "psst... watch out for that union guy, he wants a piece of your cookie."

Increased Union membership will help increase workers wages and improve working conditions. The days of employers ripping off workers and imposing appalling work conditions are numbered. It is time to stand up for workers rights, better pay and working conditions. Why should workers accept low pay and endure poor working conditions?

It is the right wing politics of fear, hate and division that opposes increase in the minimum wage. The right wing claim that minimum wage results in job losses. The reality is as proven in many countries around the world that increasing minimum wage creates more jobs as a result of the increased spending from the lower paid workers. Tax cuts for the rich and trickle down economics fails every time because the rich save the tax cuts and they do not spend to create more economic growth.

In general, in practical ways the minimum wage here has been more of a curse then a blessing. Jobs all turned part time only and were reduced by half. Workers found they had to do more work because fewer people were being employed, so stress levels went up.
Also, the few still in full time work had to pay more in taxes because there were less people hitting the tax threashold due to more and more being employed part time. It also meant moee money had to be raized in benefits.
To top this, the old job structure where the lowest wages were the starter jobs and as one became more experienced one would be promoted... Today nearly everything is minimum wage, period. I have even seen large well known retail trade stores advertizing managers positions at a town near me on minimum wage which is crazy if one realized the stress one is under at times while one is working in those positions.
