Covidiot sending junk mail through my letter box
There's someone around here (?) who keeps writing covidiot spam everywhere and posting stickers.
They've now started a letter writing campaign.
I find it really annoying.
It makes me worry that people will listen & won't get the jab.
It makes me wonder if they washed their hands at all before posting that through my letter box.
It makes me worry that my at risk mother (ok she's vaccinated but still) might pick it up.
I really hate when people spread dangerous misinformation like that.
Stepdad said there's nothing I can do to stop them.
Mum said I can stop them by putting up a no junk mail sign.
I'm not sure which is right.
I don't actually mind adverts. I mind that kind of nonsense, though.
I've been quite vocal about hating it so I wonder if it's targeted. Every time I see it, I say something about hating it to my parents and on here.
And today I was really careful not to look at it as I walked through the park. Then tonight I get it through the letter box instead...
Some of their concerns are valid, sure. But when they say stuff like 'media is the real virus' or 'it's just the flu' it pisses me off. Esp since people have been led to believe that the flu (itself a dangerous virus for those people who are high risk) is 'just a bad cold'.
And it makes me feel like they don't care if someone like my mum got it. 52, working, but with a medical condition that makes her high risk.
Like they think they're better than her.
They're really not...
It's all over the park near my house and some of the streets near my house.
I moved here & hoped the neighbours would be more similar to me than ever. But apparently not, if a local person is doing all this... I wish I knew who it was so I could give them a piece of my mind. ![]()

Seriously, pseudoscients can f**k off.
And I doubt they're local.
Cos their talking points make no sense round here.
A small minority stand to lose jobs round here. That small minority have been kept going through people who are low risk and through being smart enough to do take out during lockdown.
That was the only talking point which actually made sense & I feel sorry for the working class people* it affects but... most people round here have been working every day on zoom or similar. There's no reason for my mum to lose her job, the job she's been doing every day during lockdown.
They don't understand the area & they're not local & it pisses me off that they feel entitled to come round here & propagandise. Hopefully our local population are too smart for it.
* Seriously I can't think of a single middle class job where you would have to physically be there which isn't front line like being a doctor. And I'm a trained librarian - the libraries have been working through delivery & online...

Put the "No Junk Mail" notice on your letter box. That person has no right to come onto your property especially during Covid. I'd be furious too. For all they know, they gave that notice to homes where people are bereaved or suffering from tremendous illness and a long recovery. It's wrong for anyone to minimise the situation, or to project their beliefs on others, especially at your door.

I've put a no junk mail thing up.
It's a shame cos I mean it for literal junk only.
I don't mind getting the occasional menu for local businesses to support after all this is over.
I hope it doesn't look curmudgeonly.
But if it's the only way to stop idiots from spreading that kind of stuff then it's worth it.
Apparently they're targeting the entire city with it. Which is probably why the arguments are such generic nonsense.
I feel proud of my city/neighbourhood and it's ruining that.
