I've thought about this too, but I believe kids really learn many bad behaviors when their only peers are kids their own age. I don't know if I can express this thought though. Kids interacting together learn their own behaviors... they are rarely learning the behaviors of adults. Which is what they should be learning... not the social rules of the playground...

Yeah, but as long as the vast majority of
society is going to large schools, homeschooling
is giving them such a different background. Ah,
this can be good, but it can also weaken one's
ability to engage with others.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'd really like to tutor privately, if I can work it financially... I have a nice good intuitive (non rigorous) understanding of Math concepts that is quite relatable.

I've been able to explain to generally non-math people why multiplying two negative numbers is positive...

How far are you looking to go with your
education? The guy I'm talking about
tutors undergrads, which probably pays
more than HS. Plus, he has built up a
reputation, over time. So, by doing the
adjunct work, he gets referrals from
faculty.

As far as I can; I'm still working on my Undergrad right now plan to graduate in the Spring. I'm looking into potential masters programs I can do, maybe a Phd. But I don't think I'm quite brilliant enough to go down that path. I'm getting a bit shaky with the more rigorous areas of Math. I do love to play with Mathematics though...

Teaching wise, I could go up through Calculus... perhaps a couple more advanced subjects. I don't mind teaching the earlier levels of mathematics, as long as people are willing to learn.
