I’ve noticed this thread is depressing, and I realize that it is for help and I’ve posted my fair share of sad things, but I think it could use a motivational thread.

> You being alive, with your brain and body combination, is a rare occurrence. It will never happen again. Enjoy the moment, take some deep breaths, and realize that a lot of the time the things we fixate on are forgotten days/weeks/months later. It will pass.

I am new to this, but I imagine you are right that this section is quite depressing. But I guess if people are in that state of mind, and need help, there's no way to talk about it without being depressing.

I think I'll stick to the other sections though, since I'm not 'overflowing' enough to take in too much sadness. People who are doing better might be able to handle it and help the sad people.

Not a bad idea; this site, especially this section, could use some positivism. Maybe people could start threads in Haven when some really big positive thing happens in their life too instead of always just the negative ones?

There really is a "good side" to most things which seem "bad" on the surface.

Yes I agree. For instance, my fiancée and I can’t agree on groceries. I don’t cook. We have issues with this, but at least we have money to have food, and don’t go hungry. Our issues seem so big to us but others would be thankful to have these issues.

Yes. If all you see is darkness, it's all you see; if all you feel is negativity, it's all you feel. That's been mostly me for decades, underneath the facade of an optimistic shell, though the hell easily broke through and you could see it with my words and actions, where most were there to isolate myself, because what you see and feel tends to be what you like. Emotional self-harm. I didn't want, allow myself to see the brightness and positivity. Even if we don't have the full say, we do have a say over what we see and feel each day.

I still feel mostly dead, but I know and feel a little that I'm alive.

I like your positive thought, brainiac. I support the idea of posting positive things.

It has taken me decades to train myself away from the negative and onto the positive.

Dill, I’m glad you’re feeling at least a little bit alive.

Thank you.

It'll be where that motivation will come from, and I did open my eyes a little, no matter how hard, so brightness. Some brightness is better than none. Some feeling of life is better than none. No matter how minute over a life, some is still some. Which might be a good outlook to have in life.

A flower can make me smile. My first bulbine is flowering. I am so fond of blue-eyed grass. The Dendrobium aphyllum first flower buds are swelling and have been for more than a week. The suspense is excruciating. :D Every day I wake to see if they have opened.
