Possible where you live, here it’s 5% unless you buy a light beer.

Depends how much you drink. There's a big difference between 1-2 pints twice a week and 8-12 pints twice a week.
Alcohol does contribute to dozens of different cancers, true.. yet even medical doctors drink it. Everything in moderation - not binge drinking excess, and you'll be okay.
If you've done some damage to your liver/kidneys etc, stopping drinking will allow them time to heal. It's not game over yet.. you're only 32 years old! Plenty of time to correct course and do better.
Also, here in Canada, the average beer is 5%. Light beers & session IPAs are 3.5-4%, and there are a growing number of strong beers ranging from 6-12% coming out of countless craft breweries.
I still drink, but less than I used to. I drank a bit more during early covid.. up to around 4 drinks/day for a little while. Decided I didn't like the feeling of wanting to drink alcohol at the end of the day/night - I don't like the feeling of craving anything like that, creating an addiction or dependency. So, I cut way back and currently probably drink around 4-5 drinks/week. That's still more than I should and I'll likely cut down further just for physical health and training purposes, but once in a while I'll still drink a few. A few drinks here and there isn't going to do serious damage to almost anyone.. it's drinking a Lot of drinks, especially frequently, that's going to put people in early graves. I have a number of friends that drink between 9-18 cans/day because they're hardcore functioning alcoholics that spend their entire waking lives getting drunk in the sunshine at the beach. A beautiful place to slowly kill yourself, I guess.. but that's not for me so I keep it to usually only 1 can at the beach so I Know I'm legal and safe to drive/ride and I'm not doing any health damage.
