I feel like being in a relationship with someone is a nice thing in life to have and experience and by not experiencing, it feels as though I'm missing out on that wonderful experience and that time is moving further and further away from me and I'm feeling as though I can't have the years back that other people I knew from school or college have had because they were in a long-term relationship because they may have started a relationship in their early 20s effortlessly and now by their early 30s they are married with children and I'm not still.

I saw a podcast video done by a guy called Matthew Hussey discussing feeling bad about being single, who I feel may have summed up some of the problems I have, one of which he said that some people including someone he knew get stuck lamenting for not having the experience of a relationship and was seeing his friends who have got great jobs and other great things and successes in life which he hasn't get got and are getting married and therefore it left that person sitting there feeling that he has ''messed up his life'' because he hasn't yet achieved the things that his friends have achieved and hasn't accomplished the things he thought he would have achieved by this point in his life while unaware of the fact that he is still alive and its still to play for but he can't make the most of that open playing field because he's just sitting there lamenting the old Plan A which is dead.

Another guy on the podcast also pointed out the ''shoulds'' in life such as ''I should have graduated at that age'', ''Should have bought a house then'', ''Should have got married then'' etc and said that those things are not always in your control and that you have to accept that life doesn't always work on the timeline you want.

Yep. That’s right.
