It was interesting, and for sure would do it again.

Of course I have to be somewhat careful of the kava as it can be a bit hard on the liver, but I also drink a bit more than I should and have for years so probably best to make that more occasional and when I do indulge to not drink that day or the day after so the liver can process the kava before having to deal with alcohol.

That said these bars also currently serve kratom, which admittedly I am more interested in than the kava. But yeah they have discovered ways to make kratom more palatable so you can consume it and get the effects without puking your guts up. Like they make drinks you can get flavors on to mask the harsh kratom flavor. But idk kava gets you almost drunk but without so much impairment, idk it is difficult to explain and kratom more can get you high.

Has anyone else tried a kava bar where they have kratom to, and if so what did you think?

Also interesting to be in a 'bar' that has no alcohol, but it makes sense since you shouldn't consume alcohol and kava at the same time.

I've never been to kava bar, I didn't know that existed. But I did try kava a few times quite a long time ago.

My recollection is that I found it quite underwhelming. The effect was subtle and I probably ended up having more than I should have done because the effect was so slight. I remember being quite grossed out by the taste of it after a while and getting headachey from it.

I should note that I was a fairly regular marijuana user and occasional psilocybin mushroom user so I was expecting more in the way of noticeable effects.

I don't know anything about kratom.

Yeah the kava is kind of underwhelming, I did like the feeling it gave but for sure it was quite mellow. The kratom on the other hand has a bit stronger effects, also is not so hard on the liver as kava. That said for sure kava does not taste good...its like dirt water lol.

But yeah kratom I think can have more of a noticable drug like effect. Some knowledge on it says taking less kratom can give a more speed like effect an taking more kratom gives more of an relaxed high like opium or opiates. Some others swear by the different strains of kratom giving the varying effects, so not sure which is correct.

The times I have tried kratom I have gotten the more relaxed effect, and have not experience the speed like effect from it.

Hey, I'm glad to hear you had a good time at the kava bar with your brothers! It's always great to try new things and experience different cultures. I've actually been to Kavasutra in Lake Worth and had a similar experience - the kava was definitely interesting and had a unique effect, and I appreciated that it was a non-alcoholic option.

I haven't tried the kratom drinks there, but it's good to know that they have found ways to make it more palatable. It's important to be mindful of your liver health, so taking breaks between drinking kava and alcohol is a smart move. Thanks for sharing your experience, and keep exploring!
