Inserting pictures

When I attempted to insert a picture into the reply box the dialog requested an http address. I'm unfamiliar with much of the technology of web pages and wonder if it is possible to insert a picture from a file. I can convert it to web format through Photoshop but that doesn't give it an http address so I am mystified as to the picture from file insertion process if that is possible.

You can upload the file to something like
photobucket, and thus get a url for it.

There are other image hosting sites (imageshack for one).
