Welcome to Wrong Planet.
Bipolar is an interesting subject. I do not possess this trait but many on the site do. I understand why. I am always myself. I never try and hide my unique differences. Therefore I am not stressed in this way. I am a little bit like Peter Pan. I live in my own world, a very unique world.
Humans have multiple brains. One exists on the left side of your skull and the other on the right side. Normally the left side is dominant and the other side develops as we transition from childhood to adulthood (around age 11 or 12) into our night time brain, you sleep brain that exist in REM and deep NREM sleep. Generally the way our brain structure works is that during the night all information is moved from short term memory into long term memory and then THE INFORMATION IS ERASED. Thus we wake up the next morning all recharged and ready to go. As a result we are not even aware of what happens during the night unless we have a bad dream. If we do not perform this cleanup (for example we do not get a good nights sleep) after a day or two, we develop headaches as the data is smashed.
In a way bipolar is a similar function. If one side of our brain becomes over stressed, it switches to a different side of the brain. So if you can learn to eliminate the stress then this condition will disappear. At least this is what I have arrived at after many years. I am 75 years old.
It is good to know that you are being well taken care of. Be happy and prosper.
