The Uncanny Counter (2020)

Season 1, episodes 4 through 12

Still enjoying the story.

Mild Tangent

There is an actor by the name of Choi Kwant-il who plays a corrupt and evil mayor (without the help of an evil spirit!). Every time I see him I think "Mike Wallace." It might just be me.

Note - I did not do the annoying thing web articles about two people who look like "twins" do, pick two pictures where they are both striking a similar pose. I selected two different photos with no composition similarities. Admittedly, the similarity might only be there when Kwang-il smiles.

The Uncanny Counter (2020)

Season 1, episodes 13 through 16 (season finale)

Stayed up way past my bed time to finish season 1.

I continued to enjoy the series.

I will likely start season 2 later today.

Last night we finished watching our way through Miss Scarlet & the Duke Season 3:

This is a TV show genre my bride enjoys greatly. With few exceptions, I'm not too fond of them.

This is a rare exception. Good stuff!

It is good! It is good! RECOMMENDED It is good!

The general concept is that, when her father dies, Eliza Scarlet inherits his private detective business...becoming Victorian London's first female detective. London is not ready for it!

Does she pre-date Vastra and Jenny Flint (Dr. Who)? Although Vastra is not a female human.

The Uncanny Counter (2023)

Finished the second season. The series finale. Enjoyed it very much. The main story was wrapped up in about twenty minutes. The last forty minutes was tying up the characters' story lines. The ending, the last scene, the last shot, was a very creative way to end the show while providing the characters/actors to say goodbye. Just my opinion.

One thing I found curious is guns played role in season 2. I wonder if it was financed by Netflix because guns are illegal in South Korea. They are usually not so prominent, leading me to believe they were added to appeal to the U.S. market? Don't know for sure. Just a thought. Netflix may not have had anything to do with the financing.

IMDb says Miss Scarlet is set in the 1880s. For some reason I forget when Lady Astra arrived in London but IMDb says she was around at about the same time as Miss Scarlet or perhaps a bit later (1892), and I certainly haven't noticed any Sontarans around Miss Scarlett...though in one episode I'm not sure.

Episode 1 (of 12)

I created a link to the program's Wikipedia page because I believe the description it has is better than what I could write.

The first episode was very enjoyable.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Fallout because I heard it was good but I'm not convinced.

Unpopular, snobby opinion here but i don't think video games have got good enough at telling stories yet for better mediums to start adapting them.

Something like Fallout seems to me to have been written by people who have only ever seen movies and TV shows. It all seems like a facsomilie of stuff I've seen before. Only like all facsimilies it's a worse version of the original, a little less detailed a little more 'you fill in the blanks'.

Last of Us was in a different league.

Actually it's not an adaptation, it's canon. It takes place several years after Fallout 4.
