This is probably not a surprise to anyone.

I'm assuming you are a furry?

I am. Is that a problem?

I can't recall ever being bullied because of my special interests.

My recollection is the bullies just liked picking on me...without regard to what interested me.

(Except, I suspect my interest in being left alone by bullies was an interest they took some joy in violating.)

In junior high I used to be harassed and bullied constantly for being intensely into Garfield comics and cartoons. This lasted up into my late 20s at least. The girls were usually indifferent to my interests but the boys made my life awful. They are such idiots at that age. :x

It was the first Short I watched without a third party character and I just think it's amazing and find it interesting how it's technically Lost Media!

Imagine kink-shaming someone and thinking you're the good guy.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that person; they're the as*hole whether you're into ageplay or not.

Who ever it was was probably not "Kink [the British band] shaming" him, but was probably "Nazi shaming" him. Not just Sgt. Schultz he would post other pics of German WWII stuff. I can imagine someone giving him grief about that. And I would give him some tough coaching about how he should be careful and "post German stuff, but not Nazi stuff".

It's the Looney Tunes tie in for me, although that's dying

I'm not and I know it promotes some illegal stuff. I like the Short as a Short.

I'm not suggesting you are, I'm saying kink-shaming someone (whether it's true or not) makes the person doing it look like a less respectable person.

But besides that, it's pretend. If it's not pretend it's not called ageplay, it's called a crime.

Given how the bit really doesn't have any connection to ageplay, it really makes one wonder why that person interprets it that way. :chin:

I didn't see the last part so I'm adding to it now. It's because of Elmer being in a diaper as Cupid. Obviously the show got kinda weird after a certain point, and it shows this kind of imagery to this day (with the different versions of Looney Tunes and such, even though everyone hates those).

Trying to think. Maybe a little but in the past, I've usually gotten " No body cares" "stop talking about it" " Shut up" .

So, I just keep them to myself mostly, even if I know someone might have a shared interest, still I am hesitant to mention it. This might explain why I am so guarded and secretive about my life.

I have certainly met with social disapproval when expressing my interests. I'm not sure what the current definition of bullying is, but when you are excited to share something that gives you pleasure (I'm not even getting to kink here; I'm talking poetry, history, literature, interesting facts, etc.) and you hit solid rebuff, rejection, and/or sarcasm, it can be pretty disheartening.

I'll lay you odds that if I showed off my collection of old newspapers to someone, and they acted like I needed to drop that and focus on what was going on now in the world with the war and politics, I would feel very much put upon (simply because the reason I have all those old papers is because they were actually papers, and not today's severely-compressed rags from Gannett/UTN, McClatchy and other stingy owners).

At my previous job, I was made fun of by certain coworkers over my collection of vintage comic books involving horror themes (most pre-Code era). I had a few of them involving science covers displayed in my office. For example, one comic book shows vintage glassware in a laboratory in the background of Dr. Jeckyl. Another shows the history of atomic theory, including nuclear processes. None of the ones on display were gruesome, but I do have those in my collection. You would think that fellow scientists could appreciate the science themes, but it was not the case. No, I was labeled a “Super Nerd” by them to visitors to the department and shunned by them.

The jokes on them, as I chose wisely on what I collected the past few years. Many of the $10 books I bought have become $100+ books in a short period of time. One is now worth in excess of $1000, being a rare variant type. I collected them not for the money, but for my interest in them. Sometimes the best revenge is no revenge at all.

Yes, my special interest is a webcomic called Sparklecare Hospital and I draw the characters. The characters are all furries and people see me draw the characters so I get fingers pointed at me and names called.

I live in a very conservative area.
