I believe Trump is an existential threat to American democracy as it's possible he might never relinquish the White House, and is a threat to western stability due to his obvious plans concerning NATO. What makes him even more of a threat are the millions of his cultish, armed devotees who literally see him as their messiah.

I'm scared of him getting back in power, too, because he's demonstrably a monster who is a large threat to our human rights, religious freedom, freedom in general, national security, our democracy, and, gosh, the whole world. Remember, with him comes the Christofascists behind Project 2025. He and his potential administration/government are a danger. The alarms are blaring.

But at least some of his misdeeds have caught up with him - - GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS!! !

I'm worried too many people will still vote for him because they think Biden wants to "persecute Christians" or "take their guns".

On top of that, Texas is considering a state version of the Electoral College. It would require a candidate for statewide office to win the popular vote in the majority of counties in the state.

Texas has 254 counties, the most of any state. The majority of counties are rural and very conservative--some of the counties in the Panhandle are almost unanimously Republican. Democrats are mostly concentrated in the urban counties (Harris, Dallas, Bexar, etc). If this were in effect in the 2022 gubernatorial election, it would have been Greg Abbott 235, Beto O'Rourke 19.

Basically, this would ensure one-party GOP rule.
