I have to identify with IL and being over empathic.
I'm not disconnecting because I don't feel, but because I feel too much!
(But for some reason, more often with animals.)
Apart from 2 alcoholic brothers and a bulimic niece on the far side of the planet, there is only one person whose mental health I have to consider. (Apart from mine I guess)
I don't feel I'm being helpful enough for her and feel considerable guilt that my mental status is one of her major concerns.
