Yesterday, my friend's wife posted on FaceBook that he was trying to ride a bike and got in an "hit and run" car crash.

Today, at work (Home Depot, lot attendant), heard and saw someone hit a tree with a car. Tree fell over.

Makes me afraid of getting hit by a car. Especially since I work in the Home Depot parking lot.

It sounds like you're out looking for things to be afraid of. Yes, anybody can get in a car accident. Most people don't. (At least not serious ones. Fender-benders are somewhat common). But having worried about it won't make it any different if it does happen, which, again, it probably won't. What is the point of being afraid of it?

there is no point of being afraid of it.

but what is the point of doing anything? zero sum game.

last week, fender bender in parking lot @ work. my worthless corpse was not even 20 feet away. constantly afraid of getting hit by a car. so many drivers in the parking lot at work. some of them reckless or careless. not all of them have insurance. there is no way to guarantee not getting hit by a car. plenty of times, drivers almost hit me with cars, and even the driver has the nerve to laugh @ me.

construction workers so f*****g rude, s**t.

There are a great many things that have a point. Most of the things we do or think about in life have a point. Worrying about things that are probably not going to happen is not one of them. Unless there are steps you can take to make the occurrence less likely. But even then the effective means of preventing something bad from happening is not the worrying, but being proactive in some way. It's like you're looking for ways to make your life feel more unpleasant.
