It felt nice going to Copenhagen in December and being in a nice comfy hotel room to myself and popping out in the evenings for a meal, a drink etc. Now I'm back home and having thoughts that I'll never return to places I've been to. The news was on TV earlier which talked about depressing stuff going on in our country and seem to think other countries haven't got the same problems as us. Haven't been back to Krakow, Rome or Berlin since 2017, 2018 and 2019. I went to the London aquarium for the first time in many years last year. I know I live in the same continent as those places I've mentioned but they still feel like another world away.

I think this sort of thing is normal.

Day to day reality can be less stimulating and for some people, more depressing than 'going out', which is often something people do to feel a bit of excitement or interest. A lot of people lead uninteresting, relatively boring lives.

Unless you have a lot of money, you are probably going to get bored at some point due to not being able to spend at the required and necessary level to be perpetually entertained.

It depends on what type of person you are, also. Introverted folk are typically more content with what could be perceived as 'boring' activities by ambiverted or extroverted folk.
