Hi! My name is Jeff Zysman. I'm from NYC and I'm autistic. I love business, golf, and music.

Anyone else here from the NY area? And if so, did any of you go to the special ed schools in the area? I went to Maplebrook.

Hi JeffyZys, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

I was born in New York but on the other side of the state in Buffalo, New York. I have Asperger's Syndrome. Many years ago, they realized I was different and placed me in different types of classes, special education classes. When I went to my first year of High School, they placed me in a very interesting class. The class was called Speed Reading. This class taught me how to read from the inside out. I would take a paragraph and break it apart into pieces and then reconstruct it from the inside out. This approach allowed me to understand the most complex discussions and theories and as a result I went to college UCLA and earn a degree in Nuclear Physics.

It was not that I was reading too slow, but rather that I was reading at the speed of light and then forgetting what I read. I had to learn a different method of reading in order to learn and advance.
