It's probably pretty normal what you're going through but I know that doesn't offer much comfort

I can remember struggling with it myself

My family all live abroad, and I haven't seen them in decades. But even if I could live with them, we can't get along because of irreconcilable difference in world views. My family is deeply religious, anti-science, and they are extremely prejudiced against the LGBTQ community. I had to stop talking with my mother years ago, because every time I try to talk about her she spiraled into an irrational transphobic rant. I recently had a discussion with my brother, and he refuses to accept that humans are mammals or part of the Animal Kingdom. My sister insisted that I need to respect her country's right to kill people for being queer or not believing in Islam. And attempting to reason wit any of them is like hitting my head against a brick wall.

Yeah that must be really hard for you
Its a pity people can't put their differences aside sometimes but its not that easy in reality is it

I wonder why people are like that where they just don't want to respect anyone else's views or beliefs

I can only accept someone's religious beliefs up to the point where those beliefs start to affect others negatively.

Please do not self delete.
a Thought: If you live your life based on others lives. Than it maybe hard to call the life your living your own.
A solitary life well lived , from your own perspective . Maybe the exact one you were meant to live . On occassion
just being an observable example of how well you can live on your own . Is the best example for others?
Before Autism was better acknowledged, I observed my non- verbal little sister, whom became prone to tantrums after many years of abuse by most all other members of my family ,while very young . But no one noticed that this same person could intuit the Location of any sweet desert brought into the house. Without even having been there when it was hidden . In addition after a period of 3 months of starting out with the most basic of 6 piece jigsaw puzzles.
Was completing 1000 & 1500 piece puzzles in about 1-2 hours. And eventually continued to 3000 piece puzzles .
Mother eventually put her in a group home. Not withstanding the group home, She had some amazing attributes
that I wish I had. But nevertheless the family unit dissolved due to internal types of violence . But I will never forget
what I witnessed in her.
