So.. in my 20 years at my current job, for the most part I've been in the same department. I've been on 3rds(which I hated) and 2nds, 3-11 which I've worked for years.
I have stayed on 2nds because for a long time it seemed there was less drama, people getting into your business, and all the big bosses aren't there wandering around. However, I think I'm falling out of love with it.
The job has become increasingly harder over the years; hourly rate quotas have been increased greatly. Micro-managing and more steps I have to do to complete my tasks. Lack of room to work, too many people to deal with, and always seemingly getting the worst jobs.
I'd leave in a heartbeat, but the hours work well, and I've just been on this schedule for so many years. this would mean going to days as well working 4–10-hour days VS 5–8-hour days I do now. New hours would be 7am-5pm. Sat Sun, and 1 day during the week off.
I really hate getting up early but working 3rds is sheer hell. On 2nds its nice to be able to schedule stuff like Dr's appointments or run a quick errand VS at 5 in the afternoon when its busy.
Still, I'm sick of this crap and a couple of people I've been having trouble with. I'm torn.
