I received a message when I tried to post this morning that said:

On the bottom it is written:

What is happening?

(It seems like I can post here. Is Wrong Planet being spammed?)
(Strange. I can enter articles but it runs into problems when I try and modify what I have entered. It seems to be unable to enter updates.)

No, WP is not being spammed and seems to be functioning correctly - and at speed for once!
(unlike my own net connection which is up and down like a yo-yo at the moment)

It sounds like this may be related to your browser or a browser add-on - especially one that might try to spoof the browser identification.
If the browser identification returns incorrect or garbled information it may be seen as being out of date.

Or, if some WP-related script is being prevented from running that may also be viewed as a failure owing to browser age. Earlier browsers would sometimes fail to properly run code.

Which browser are you using?
Have you recently changed any settings or added something to it?

It seems to be working fine now.

Maybe that is what happened. I may have a ghost.

Not sure if this is related but I've been having problems the last week with WP randomly not loading or loading very slowly. I have these problems on my desktop computer with my home internet & when using my phone & mobile data instead of my home internet. This happens on multiple browsers. Some of the times WP wouldn't load I did a Google search for Is It Down & the 5 sites I checked all said WrongPlanet.net is down or not responding so I'm pretty sure that the problem is not on my end. I don't receive a Cloudflare message though. My browsers either do nothing except show the loading icon or I get an error message from my browser. It reminds me of when my parents got a home computer after I graduated from high-school & we had dial-up internet because cable & dsl was not avilable in my area yet.

Not directly related but yes, WP has 'off' periods where it's very slow to respond (most obviously on submitting or previewing a post) or slow to paint parts of the interface (usually the avatar).
Sometimes CloudFlare timeout errors are produced.

The reason is unknown, but it usually sorts itself out and often self-corrects within a few hours and resumes normal operation (and speed) - until the next time...
Reported often; alas no permanent fix.

I'm not sure about the reliability of IsItDown - while writing this reply I checked, to find it says that the site is down and has been for a week. Clearly it's not.
