I'm unsure of how common this is but has anyone else experienced the telling from another that they "walk weird"?
When I was younger (two or three years ago now) my parents would continuously note how oddly I walked and eventually scolded (and threatened to take away things-usual punishment for misbehaving and stuff :3) until I walked "normally". Now I walked on my tip-toes as a toddler until my mom got me out of that but this was a different kind of walking weird. I didn't move my arms when walking. To me, not the biggest deal! Frankly, it doesn't seem nor come naturally to me. :[ However I did have to try and do this to please my parents and I thought I was doing well enough by copying what I saw other people do when they walk (I wasn't doing a good job copying them, oops! >_<) but I'm just confused and I guess I'm just asking if this is difficult for anyone else and also for advice on how to walk more "normally" and "naturally"... thanks!

I had a bad accident and got to re-learn how to walk as an adult!

When I was a kid my mother and other adults thought I didn't walk properly either. I'm flat footed and had to wear special shoes, and I had to be shown the normal and therefore "right" way to walk up stairs.

Sometimes it feels like we can't do anything the normal way, and naturally only the normal way is the right way. There is just so much pressure into being "normal", even though that would be very boring.

Tip-toe walking is a classic autism trait. Unusual posture and gesturing are also common autism traits. "Walking like a robot" or whatever.

That's also a common autism trait. Especially among children and young adults.

I wore special flat-feet boots as a kid, and I can't remember if I did or got close to wearing leg braces. I also remember that I loved walking on the balls of my feet and having conversations about how to swing ones arms with my father when walking because I kind of just let them dangle there often or they're kind of doing their own thing apart from my legs. In fact, I remember people in high school specifically making fun of the way I would sway my upper body from side to side when walking, rather than maintaining my head perfectly straight.

I did the tiptoe walking often as a kid, occasionally I still do. Exercise has helped me improve my posture, but I still do the "raptor hands" as you call them.

I have no spacial awareness. I often walk on people's toes. Nowadays I tend to walk 3 feet behind people.
When I'm behind a slow walker it gets dangerous, I often tip toe to keep my 3 feet distansance which leads to me tripping over my own toes.

I don't have "raptor hands" but instead I always hold my hands on behind when I don't have any backpack / bag

^ Kinda that way, but holding like I'd hold hands with somebody

I was told I ran strangely in primary school.

I struggle in the present day with spatial awareness and not stepping on people's heels when I am walking behind them.

No I always walk bowlegged after I've been skateboarding

It's because I'm using muscles that don't normally get used
