"Bookmark" means you save a web page's location to your browser's bookmarks (also known as "Favorites"), with the idea being that you can keep a track of useful/interesting/funny pages you've come across while browsing a site or the web at large.

In time you end up with a library of various links in your browser which are easier to access than having to remember the site name.

On your pc web browser you bookmark www locations for quick access to your favorite or important websites. On your smart phone you 'bookmark' your favorite websites by downloading and using their app. This is a very simplistic answer of course as phone apps also act as program links as well, just like on your pc.

Er, no. The act of browsing and bookmarking is the same on a mobile platform as it is on a desktop.
It's a browser based activity, not platform based.

If there's some app involved which facilitates bookmarking for a given site it would be required to be downloaded on any platform, surely?
It would also be a terrible idea.

To access any thread you have bookmarked , Go to 'My Account', then under options click 'Overview', then click 'manage Bookmarks' to see your Bookmarked threads

Ah, the account bookmark stash. I forgot about that.

Although - any forum, thread or post can be bookmarked in a browser like any other web page.

Thats the bit I was missing - thanks. Frustrating when same word gets used for related but different purposes.

I have now bookmarked that page (in browser sense).
