They banned because... I said that Elon Musk actually does have traits.

Only for that, just because I don't think political beliefs impact this.

Plus, they spread misinformation and if you quote DSM 5 "it sucks"... boh.

Answering topic: Maybe because Reddit itself is toxic asf?

I rarely post on reddit, but I read about fifteen to twenty subs. I tend to avoid all the autism related ones except to read r/Aspergers & r/SpicyAutism . My experiences & opinions don't line up, so it's just not worth the eye-rolling & internal upsetness. ( r/SpicyAutism can be eye opening.)

I know that nothing I say will change anyone's mind. On the other hand, I've got a friend who constantly gets banned & creates new accounts. He's partly trolling, but also very stuck in the "I'm right; you're wrong" mindset.

I sometimes try to help in crafting subs, but people don't seem to read or know (or be willing) to try anything.

Some of them have rules against even speculating that someone may have it.

There are a number of posters who say only the DSM5 counts. Other countries use various versions of the ICD or DSM. The doc that diagnosed me disliked the DSM5, & all my medical places still have Asperger's as a valid code.

To answer the initial question, I've yet to meet someone diagnosed that didn't have strong opinions (whether that's "who cares" or a strong argument).

Exactly but they banned me because... I said Elon GOT autistic traits? No, I didn't said he is correct about his politic. 8O
And I wasn't speculating... since HE SAID it.

"Elon Musk say he is ASD but for me isn't he is a liar he is a psychopat" me "actually he does those traits". BANNED.

Were you banned for bringing politics into it? That's also against the rules in some.

Well they must have got some crappy rules then. I don't know why they'd want to be like that.

They vibe at a particular niche.

Some are good, but overall I'm wary enough that I wouldn't ever register my username to be in it, interesting as it is reading countless anecdotes.

Maybe they have a negative view of Elon Musk, gives autistics a bad name or likely has some high standards unmet from other autistics -- or just jealous. Or maybe it's one of those echo chambers.

I could care less.
It's the same reason why I would never go to online places like 4chan.

Oh and...
I say, traits are byproducts, not identities. :o

Sounds like the group you were in had a certain POV and one of the mods took your post personally. Even if what you said wasn't opinionated or bad.

A lot of subreddits have that hive mind mentality hence why it is common to see people parrot the same opinions. Take for example the hate on children and parents on r/childfree.

Unfortunately, not everyone forms their own thoughts in this social media landscape but instead listens to biased information or worse, misinformation.

I think it's OK for a group to have whatever democratically-agreed rules it wants (pretty much) as long as they're written down clearly and plain for all to see, but I hate unwritten rules, because the effect is that innocent parties are lured into a trap, and they get attacked for saying something they had no way of knowing was "wrong." If they want an echo chamber for a particular bias, I prefer them to have the guts to admit it. One trouble with that is that these implicit opinions aren't always conscious, so that they don't even know, or don't want to know, that they're running an echo chamber. The average human being might not be wise enough to be able to moderate very well.

I suppose also that it's rare that anybody who gets removed from a group agrees with the decision, though I'm not suggesting the OP was rightly removed. In fact judging by the details we have of the story, it does look unfair.

Aren't modern communities algorithm-diven for max clicks & time spent? Drama → engagement → more drama → toxicity → repeat = ad revenue for big tech.

Reminds me of those toxic barrels in Doom. You stay away from them because if they explode you get hurt.

Funny if it works as a business model though. The mood it puts me in just seeing it doesn't make me feel like buying anything if I see an ad. I just want to ram it up the creator's bum. "Avoid loud and aggressive people, they are a vexation to the spirit."

I got the same lot when talking about HF Classic autism, Psychosis, Even telling them ADHD Is not a type of ASD-1. I gave up posting on them when my posts about having overlooked psychosis was just downvoted or removed with replies, Or If did get any they were very rude.

Reddit Is a joke overall. Since /r/AMD would be very anti-7900xtx despite It outperforming the RTX 4080 super & 5080. The Audiophile subs If about IEM's would have a**holes lashing out about the Etymotic ER4XR despite It performing like planar headphones that cost 4x It price, I even had a few call me ableist slurs instead of F'ing off when told how ignorant their being.
