Ch

I can see how neralink could help some people, but where do we draw the line, when will healthy people get told this is what they must do to be part of society.

Mostly: what are dangers, what could go wrong?
What do you think.

Mandating whatever from one particular company is always a quick road to potential catastrophe, and I can't even imagine what can happen in case of brain-invasive computers running blackbox firmware.

I don't see point of invading oneself with such electronics unless there would be a real need of due to severe health problems - Though personally even then I'd not consider such, or at very least not from that funny Tesla man.

Yeah too late. the market for neural chips that can download data from wifi is going to eventually be the same as people using mobile phones. Our great grand kids are going to be basically walking computers.

the Wall-e future and one predicted in Ridley Scott's Prometheus suggests once you have AI robots then human beings really don't have to do anything other than personal recreation. Using this model, AI robots should also be capable of managing all human affairs and manufacturing themselves and use wireless to create a hive mind (not really that difficult to achieve given we already have wifi).

Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics are a set of ethical guidelines programmed for robots. They are: A robot may not harm a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm; A robot must obey the orders of human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law; A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Elaboration:
First Law:
This law prioritizes human safety and well-being. A robot must always avoid harming humans or allowing them to be harmed.
Second Law:
This law emphasizes obedience to human commands, but only if those commands don't violate the First Law.
Third Law:
This law allows robots to protect their own existence, but only as long as it doesn't conflict with the first two laws.
Zeroth Law:
Asimov added a Zeroth Law in later writings: "A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm," which places the well-being of humanity above that of any individual.

So long as AI has these programmed as some type of failsafe we humans should be safe as the AI hive mind becomes sentient.

In the anime Gunnm/Battle Angel, all the children who live in a futuristic floating city called Zalem get their physical brain replaced with a microchip, which has all their capabilities and memories accurately preserved. Even when warned this will happen to them ahead of time, they still want the procedure done anyway. Why? Because all their friends are doing it, and they don't want to be left out.

Gunnm is highly underrated for being so ahead of its time, exploring this theme and many similar ones like it. The main character is a cyborg - so human brain, but robotic body. Yukito Kashiro was a blinding genius for all the creativity and sometimes deep philosophical exploration of these very strange new frontiers of science which challenge our boundaries as to what is and is not still "human".
