Think being self employed allows the Church to grant dispensation for not being able to attend on a regular basis .?

Loves velcro,
I'm a recent convert, it was only in August that I accepted God's love into my heart and accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I am not part of any denomination, as I believe that all denominations - no matter how benign they may be in their behavior - have ultimately corrupted both the Scripture and Christ's teachings for their own gain and benefit.
My relationship with God and Christ is a personal one, independent of any rituals or traditions of any church, based entirely upon my reading and studying of the Bible and how I interpret and understand it and my daily prayers.

Remember that it is never too late to accept God's love into your heart and to believe the truth that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead after three days. Christ's sacrifice was unconditional and it is never too late to invite Him into your heart as your personal Savior!
Hi everyone. I thought I would share here with you something I have been mulling over myself in the past. I am a Christian and I try and respect the Sabbath/Sunday day of rest rule and try and keep it.
With an eating disorder and autism sometimes in rare cases it has proved to be a bit of an issue. Sometimes I haven’t been able to obtain any food the day before due to health and have felt guilty about going to a local store after church on Sunday or say going to a buffet.
When the Bible was written a lot of conditions had not yet come to light like allergies etc that may need one to not rest and clean say their bedroom for dust daily.
I looked into the exceptions to the rule of rest in modern day life and my rector at church weighed in on it and also a Jewish learned rabbi. This is what I uncovered below. What I do now is do my best and aim to follow the rule, but if I cannot I try and not beat myself up for it as Jesus knows that i am doing the best that I can and to focus on health.

There are some exceptions to the rules for Health and Safety.
I asked my rector this question and they said that in Christianity Jesus was about healing and miracles. Today our expectation should be that anything that helps us to heal is ok to do on the day of rest.
So for me to obtain food where I need to, is ok yes.
A person who suffers from depression and finds gardening helpful, to do so yes as well.
Your in a crisis mentally and need time out for therapy for autism, yes as well.
I once dropped a bag on Sunday in the communal area and this is a health and safety matter for example and it would be fine to pick it up on the Sabbath not to endanger anybody's health. I have an allergy to dust and it is fine for me to shake my bedding on a holy day.
Recently went from Baptist to Catholic.

Hi, nice to meet you. I was baptised a Catholic and attended Catholic schools to 19 and mass also. I am still a Catholic at heart, but love the independence more of being non demontional. I do at times attend my childhood Catholic church in the week to take mass and use it to give thanks. I find it to be one of the most supportive comforting places for me to be. I was only in primary school when that was my childhood so it has good memories.
I attend a Anglican church for an express 30 minutes service sometimes twice a week and love it being in a quiet chapel. I love getting both of the Sacraments. It is very similar actually to a Catholic service.
I like it that the services are no more than 30 minutes with no singing as well. I do have my own playlist when I want to listen to music. I will share my playlist here if anyone needs ideas as well.

Anyway, church for me this morning and I am looking forward to Pentecost day in June. My church usually do something special. Last year we all wore something red to symbolise the day of Pentecost.
As a Christian someone asked me the other day what do I think of some of the Leviticus laws in the Bible today. I had a look around the subject before I could answer and I read that Leviticus laws in the Bible is only intended to be for God's chosen people at that time which were Jews. As a Christian I think you can choose to follow these or not, but it is usually agreed that we follow the Ten Commandments and love God above all and our neighbour as ourselves. Also, Jesus' Beautitudes cement this and is very important as well. I think for some people who felt on the margins because of feeling they fell outside of Leviticus laws if it doesn't pertain to them may be this might be liberating for them. https://www.chabad.org/
I was recommended a very good website by a Rabbi to read more about Jewish law as well today. I read now that it is quite custom even for a Jew in modern day to offer an offering if they fell outside of the Leviticus laws. Obviously in the west there is no really high preists to settle matters. Times are changing.
I hope you are well.
I am meant to going to Lourdes for a day trip soon and I am really looking forward to it. I am not going for anything specific and it is a place of beauty for me and I will write a summary of it when I go as well.
Christianity can be confusing even to those who are Christian not to mention those who aren't.
There are so may different and even strange practices, doctrines, and traditions that it can seem incomprehensible.
Here is a 19 minute video about Christianity that can be helpful.
