^^ I've found that. Melbourneites generally like to mind their own buisness all the time. That's probably why you've come across videos of interviews with foreigners instead of Melbourneites.

The two places best to find a conversation in Melbourne are the trains and libraries. Basically anywhere where people are trying to kill time.

There's various TV shows that play vids of people who are sometimes not aware they're being filmed. For example the MTV show Ridiculousness & the Tru-TV shows World's Dumbest & Impractical Jokers. Impractical Jokers gets the people to sign paperwork & their faces are blurred when they don't sign. World's Dumbest & Ridiculousness sometimes get videos that were posted online or they receive vids from news stories & law enforcement. I don't recall seeing blurred faces when watching shows like Cops or their spinoff Jaill or when watching the news. Sometimes the people are in very compromising positions & extremely likely would not want to be filmed. I'm not sure how these shows get away with airing footage without the people being filmed signing paperwork, especially Cops.

If it's done by accident, there shouldn't be a problem. If it's done on purpose, that's a whole different story.
