how do you those vocals (no better word) from metal?

Uh, basically some of the vocals, singing from more heavier bands, uh for a lighter example I'd give master of puppets by metallica, for the heavier ones, i'd probably give parts of Run from a fall to break, and the entirety of slaughter of the soul by at the gates. thx.

You mean the shouty vocals typical of thrash? It's basically just shouting.
If you mean the fry screams common in some melodeath (like ATG), you do them on the vocal fry.
If you mean the gutturals typical of stuff like Cannibal Corpse, they're on the false vocal cords.
