Are you a royalist

Or do you think the royal family is an outdated institution

Or do you just not care anyway either way

Personally, I think the concept of Monarchy and Royalty should be abolished but I am biased because I am American. I am a firm believer in the Representative Republic system that America has and not Royalty. I wish that England would get rid of the Monarchy. I am just glad that I dont have to deal with it in my country.

I sure hope we don't.

Unfortunately, some billionnaires here in the U.S.A., especially Peter Thiel, are fans of Curtis Yarvin, who advocates monarchy. And, alas, our Vice President, J.D. Vance, is basically a puppet of Peter Thiel.

Same here although I think we have had a form of pseudo royal families in America because I think families like the Bushes and the Kennedys are essentially our version of royalty here. Also Dynastic Wealth is becoming more of a thing here.

I see the British royal family as more of a historical cultural tradition.

What I don't understand is why the whole country has to get involved every time one of them burps, farts or wipes their arse

Harry and Meghan are extremely annoying, I don't like Charles but overall I don't mind them. I miss queen Lizzie. William and Kate are ok.

I'd rather not be governed by inbreds who get more wealth and privilege than I'll ever have in my life. Just sayin'.

I'm not a particular fan of the royal family, although there are benefits to having royalty as neutral figureheads in state affairs, especially in scenarios where decisions are better made by people less partial than politicians.

I can't get excited about it either way really.

My understanding is that the Royal Family costs the individual UK taxpayer very little. Like less than £2 per year of my tax bill goes to the royals. The amount of money they contribute to the economy through tourism has got to make that worth it.

Their domestic power is largely symbolic and theoretical. If they started throwing their weight around that'd be the end of them so I think they're in check.

They're a source of soft power abroad.

I have a little bit of nostalgia. I associate them with childhood interests like postboxes and stamps and Christmas and Christopher Robin going down with Alice etc.

I don't follow the soap opera of their family relationships. You can opt out of that if you don't care for it.

I wouldn't be too fussed if they vanished, but there's much more important things to get worked up about in terms of how this country is run.

I think my across the road neighbour likes them because every time it's a royal celebration on the news she ties buntins to the tree

I'm opposed to monarchy and oligarchy, me.
