I went to the Denver rally, me and my boyfriend did not plan it out so well though. We did find a vendor to get a No Kings flag from and also a button with a poop emoji with a crown that said no kings. So we were able to walk around with those things to show we are part of the thing.
I did want to try and mingle more with people, but it was such a huge crowd and both me and my boyfriend can get a bit overwhelmed with that and it was hot out so it kept just becoming a quest for us to find shade. While waving our little flag we got. But we showed up and we added to the crowd so that counts for something.
But yeah it's the first of one of these protests we've gone to, and it was chill like part of the time it was unclear if it was a protest or a party...Like people were just chilling, like very nonviolent event just people hanging out and holding signs and cars driving by honking in support. And sounds like all the various no kings protests across the country each had more people than the amount that showed up to Trumps sad birthday party parade.
So did anyone else go to a no kings protest today?

hmm, there was not a pride parade at the same time of the Denver rally but there were still a lot of pride flags and stuff. I saw mostly american flags some being upside down and one american flag with S.O.S written on it. and lots of pride flags and a few mexican flags. Some people are bothered about the mexican flags, but idk this is a nation of immigrants so I don't really see the problem with like people who hail from there and became americans still having some pride of their heritage or whatever. I wouldn't bring a Mexican flag, but I am also not a mexican-american.
Also I hear though through out the day the protest was peaceful, later that night there was some clashing between protestors and police. I still haven't dug in to much about how that started or what happened exactly I was going to do more research tommorrow. I did hear at one point some protesters were trying to get onto a busy highway and police deterred that...but in that case a few pepper balls or whatever probably was a lot less severe then people being hit by cars. So in that case I don't wanna be a boot licker, but for that particular part I would argue police deterring that specific activity was probably for the best as those people getting on that highway could have ended pretty badly.
But I heard some other stuff on reddit of police aggravating things with people just standing around after the official protest had ended even though they weren't blocking streets or really impeding things, they were just still rallying a little after the fact. Like a lot of people dispersed and stopped into places for a couple beers or some food after so some of the after the fact rallyers might have just been still expressing some enthusiasm for the movement between going to bars or restaurants. Like the closed off streets part of the day was over and people were respecting that but from the sound of it there was a bit of sketchy behavior from some of the police that caused a bit of conflict. One person said it looked like an officer threw a tear gas canister or grenade or whatever into a dumpster opposite of the place they were at...but they weren't able to get a video. Does kind of make me wonder if it would be worth sticking around later next time around to see if any video proof can be collected of police trying to instigate a riot. I would not stick around 'as a protestor' I'd put that stuff away and be just a person having a night out on the town but be observing and if I see anything try to get it on video. And I wouldn't be alone my boyfriend would be with me.

Actually, I misspoke (wrote). The police overreacted a few days earlier with the Anti-Trump protestors.
