Hello!
I am new here and I am starting college this upcoming fall. I will be sharing a bathroom with about four other people, and so require shower shoes. I have had to shower in flip flops before (morning practices for cross country) and have found that the sensory sensation is enough to send me into an overstimulated tizzy. Does anyone have any recommendations for shower shoes that cause the least amount of sensory overload, or tips as to how to mitigate it? For example, I've been thinking of having two pairs of shower shoes, one to wear in the shower and one to put on immediately after.

Anyways, I just want to know your alls thoughts on this and if you have any tips, please share!

Thank you so much!

Do you just not like the feeling between your toes? There are different types of beach sandals and flip flop types that go around foot instead of between toes. Hiking style sandals are also an option, buying an inexpensive option would be perfect for showering. Crocs could be an extreme option, depending on multiple factors.

Swim socks might work for you. You can get ones that are just like socks but made from neoprene, or ones that barely cover your foot and nothing else.

Here's an example, just so you can see what I mean:

For me, its the feeling of something being wet/soapy and squishy under me while I'm showering, and the feeling afterwards when your trying to dry off and your feet are stuck with the wet shoes and stuff. My non-autistic friends who are in college reccomend croc flip flops because apparently they rinse off the easiest and the water flows through more than other brands.

I do like the swim socks, though! I'm going to the beach soon so I might buy them and do a trial run there.

Thank you guys for all the replies :)
