Today in my local town someone shouted fron there car "Pedo" at me
..

Do you think my best bet is to move town if I am going to be treated this way in my local community?

Would moving cause you hardship?

Don't let the f*****s grind you down mate. If you're happy with your accommodation I would stay put. It's very difficult to get decent accommodation these days.

Unless it's notorious or somebody's posing a real danger to you and/or your property, I'd just ignore them.

Why did someone call you a "pedo", anyway?

A major factor to consider is how easy it would be to move. I'd also recommend researching the area your planning to move to. It might be a lot easier if you have a family member or friend to move in with instead of signing paperwork & getting locked in to a lease or mortgage. Being on gov benefits might make it a lot harder for you to get your own place. I can relate to hating where you live & thinking you'd be happier & better off living in a different area. Very luckily I never experienced that kind of abuse & accusations your dealing with James. Moving might also help you obtain a relationship if women in your current area have been hearing BS negative gossip about you or if the area your moving to would have more things in the community that would interest you besides bars.

Thought to add that I don't know about other countries but in the US small towns tend to be more intolerant & hateful so moving to a bigger city might be better than moving to a smaller town. Also gong by various things I've read online, some people apparently look like pedos. I don't know how a pedo is supposed to look but perhaps changing your appearance would help some like a different hairstyle & different style of cloths.

If so, then yeah a fresh start may not be the worst thing, but you may have to get rid of some old habits and change the way you present yourself a bit. Or in your local community if it's not realistic to move away, just try and be a better person. Idk if you spent less time at bars maybe you could find hobby groups or you could volunteer at a pet shelter or something...and meet people outside of the scene of that bar you keep going to and eventually gain a better image in the community. But sometimes you just don't fit somewhere anymore, and it can be time to move on and start a new life.

If the question is or starts with 'Should I give up?' the answer is yes, 99.99% of the time.

Minors should not be allowed at bars/pubs since it's illegal for them to drink & guys might come on to them there. Not to mention that it might be hard to tell if someone is underaged or not without checking their ID.

It's not illegal to talk to someone underage. Just ignore the hating bastards. I had a lovely 15 year old girl called Cheryl round to my house when I was about 23. I met her on CB radio. We didn't do anything illegal though.

^Er, shouldn't the minimum age of consent be 18 years of age? Or are you living in a different area where it's legal at a younder age?
