Got a theory guys, do you think that we tend to have co-morbid OCD as an over-compensating mechanism for lack of common sense and executive function (as opposed to having OCD caused by autism directly)?

I think this, because even now in middle age, I find that I have to write down several things that I need to do when doing family activities (I'm married to an NT woman, have two daughters) and she's had to rebuke me on common sense things that I missed, despite acknowledging that I'm a decent and conscientious individual at heart. So I feel a great sense of guilt, shame, and regret as a result. Thus I find myself triple-checking and consulting notes and asking "what-if" questions to her when embarking on certain activities and whatnot, which one would say are OCD-like behaviours, but I think in my case it's justified.

IN a similar vein, one could make a logical argument that we're not technically "paranoid", b/c we've actually suffered abuse from others (we weren't imagining it), parallel to the theory that we're not OCD if we actually have a history that propels us in that direction. As opposed to someone who doesn't make such mistakes, who keeps checking for such-and-such when it's clear that there's nothing to be anxious about, for them.

I suspect OCD having a physiological origin as it can be improved with things like Lithium orotate and fish oil (omega 3).

My kids compensate for necessary tasks that often get overlooked because an intense focus elsewhere often leads to things being forgotten by writing with a pen on their hand. .It may not look attractive, but it does seem to help them.
